Store Assistant

If you are looking to make a longer term contribution to Habitat for Humanity Muskoka, volunteering in our ReStore is an excellent option.  The ReStore sells new and gently-used home renovation and improvement materials.  Volunteers assist with the preparation of materials for sale, merchandise repairs, customer service, cash operation and store housekeeping.  Volunteers interested in working at the ReStore need to commit to volunteering on a regular basis, together we create a schedule of hours.    By supporting the ReStore as a volunteer you are working to help Habitat for Humanity Muskoka raise funds to cover the affiliate’s operational costs and build homes in the Muskoka community.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Muskoka ReStore you can fill in an application form and send it to the volunteer coordinator.  You will be contacted once the application form has been received to set up an interview and an orientation.

Our Orientation Manual for volunteering with the ReStore is part of all volunteer training.

Volunteers are also required to read and sign our Liability Release and Waiver, our Code of Conduct and confidentiality form.

Drivers and Warehouse Personnel

The successful operation of our 22,000 square foot ReStore depends greatly on the assistance given by our volunteers.  The donations given to be resold are received at the store and picked up from those donating them.  This system requires people to go out in the truck to the pick-up locations, load up the goods and bring them back to the ReStore.  We also require people to help unload cars with donations, check the merchandise and assist with the daily function of the ReStore. 

Note this position may involve bending, heavy moving and lifting.

Salvage Crew

Do you have a background in construction or carpentry? Do you have an eye for details? Can you work on a team? If you answered yes to any of these joining our salvage crew might be the perfect volunteer position for you! The Salvage Crew goes to demolition sites and removes kitchen and bathroom cabinetry from homes to resell at ReStore.   Not only will you be supporting Habitat for Humanity Muskoka, you are also helping keep items from the landfill while also ensuring we can offer items at a lowNote this position may involve bending, heavy moving and lifting.

Office Volunteer

Help us keep our office running smoothly! Office volunteers support and assist in the day to day operations of our affiliate.  Tasks can include computer work, making phone calls, assisting with data entry, coordinating mailouts, etc.  Come find out what happens behind the blue door and make a huge contribution to our local Habitat for Humanity.
